Data governance is essential to enabling digital transformation and advancing innovation. For example, one way to lower barriers to R&D is to exploit the contemporary technologies of AI/ML and NLP. To use these tools effectively, data needs to be machine-actionable and machine-ready. Clear data management, strategic vision, and oversight of the data are required to enable this.
