Introduction
The Pistoia Alliance is setting up a new initiative that will match large pharma companies with fast-moving technology providers developing solutions that have the potential to significantly impact life sciences R&D.
What is the Pharma Venture Board
We are building a board of senior level leaders from global pharma companies who understand use-case driven business needs and budget and licensing process to review, evaluate and provide feedback to emerging companies participating in our new accelerator program. This initiative uses the Pistoia Alliance’s pre-competitive legal framework for collaboration to provide pharma companies with visibility into new and emerging companies.
What the program offers
Each participating company will gain access to key Pharma Venture Board members who will:
- Evaluate the participating company’s product/service/value
- Provide structured feedback on product capability, business impact, strategic fit, value relative to current pharma priorities, and determine whether there is interest in further engagement
- Participating companies will provide a company/product/service description, produce use case summary and details of research/clinical/business impact and USPs. Each company will deliver a virtual presentation to the Pharma Venture Board (20 minutes for company overview and product demonstration; 10 minutes Q&A) which will be recorded and shared with relevant team members.
Why should emerging companies participate?
- Direct, timely access to the right individuals/channels in large global pharma companies with budget responsibility
- Opportunity to frame an appropriate use case, value and impact proposition aligned with pharma’s licensing guidelines
- Evaluation, insight and proof for the company and for VCs that there is a market need and interest in adoption/licensing
