Recognizing Innovation and Achievement in Data Science
Entries are open for our prestigious 2027 Data Science Awards. Our unique program of excellence recognizes and celebrates the vital role data scientists play in moving the life sciences industry forwards.
This is your opportunity to shine as a rising star in the industry, a collaborative team or a vendor dedicated to advancing science and new breakthroughs.
Finalists will be selected by our esteemed panel of judges and for the third year running the winners will be crowned at our London conference at the Royal Society of Medicine, March 23, 2027.
Young Data Scientist of the Year
Are you a young data scientist (30 years or younger) with a compelling story to tell about the role you played in an important data science initiative in the life sciences industry? Entrants need to be able to demonstrate innovation and impact. This award is open to members and non-members. The winner will receive prize money of $1,500.
Data Science Team of the Year
This award seeks to recognize the importance of teamwork and the power of collaboration to address a specific challenge in the life sciences industry. We are looking for evidence of team excellence and innovation with a focus on the business impact that can be achieved through intra-company or cross company collaboration. Entrants must be a member of the Pistoia Alliance. The winning team will receive a donation of $1,500 to a health care related charity of their choice.
Vendor of the Year
This new award seeks to recognize vendors who have collaborated with a member organization to deliver an innovative solution for the life sciences industry. Entrants must be a member of the Pistoia Alliance and be supported by a statement by a pharma, biotech or academic organization, or by a patient group or charity. We are looking for evidence of technology innovation and collaboration with a focus on the business impact achieved.
Criteria for Entries
- Awards are free to enter
- Members are permitted to enter more than one category and are also permitted to enter more than one entry per category
- The project being entered must have been carried out and completed during 2026
- Young Data Scientist Award (30 years and younger in 2026) is open to members and non-members
- Data Science Team of the Year and Vendor of the Year are open to members only
- To qualify as a finalist for Young Data Scientist of the Year and Data Science Team of the Year entrants must be able to present in London or delegate to a colleague or provide a video in the event of company travel restrictions
