This presentation will address the issue of suspicious order monitoring in terms of legacy DEA regulations and recently proposed changes.  DEA issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on 4 December 2020 regarding this issue and has been collecting public comments.  This is the first proposed change in DEA’s regulations concerning suspicious order monitoring in approximately 50 years.

Mark Caverly is a Senior Regulatory Consultant with IQVIA assisting clients with the requirements of the U.S. Controlled Substances Act and implementing regulations.  Mr. Caverly joined IQVIA after a 31 year career with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.  In his last position with DEA, Mr. Caverly was Chief of the Liaison and Policy Section, Diversion Control Division, at DEA Headquarters and a primary point of contact to regulated industry.
